With the reduction in job lengths and the increasing trend towards shorter runs in the mature sales market, many carton manufacturers are focusing their attention on how to reduce logo die cutter makeready times, especially for repeatable jobs. Many die-cutting machine manufacturers are installing system software on new equipment that can increase the rate of die preparation, while others are adding retrofit system software to their recent or previous models of many series. Such systems work closely around the use of an axis that ensures the precise sequencing of components across the entire machine. With that axis, it is possible to apply quick locking special tools and adjustable die-cutting tables.
The trend is still to equip die-cutting machines with fully-automatic cartoning equipment. Carton manufacturers are once again using it as an effective way to reduce human capital costs and improve product quality. Many of these project investments have led to a significant increase in the efficiency of post-processes such as gluing and carton forming, which is due to the reduction in the physical handling of the carton when fully automated cartoning is applied instead of manual waste removal. Fully-automatic slitting is now being used more and more frequently, and with the reduction in the cost of die-cutting tools, the cut-off point for the application of fully-automatic slitting has already been reduced to as low as 10,000 sheets.
As one of the first R&D teams to produce high-speed die-cutting machines, Changhong Hexie Machinery & Equipment Co., Ltd. has a continuous upgrading programme to drive our team to develop new technologies and streamline processes. It is gratifying to know that our team has the kind of dedication that would otherwise be difficult to demonstrate in the current highly competitive high-speed die-cutting market.
